Trace the water path

Mark the sample take-off, isolation points, line length and elevation changes. Check that the sample point still represents the water you want to monitor when pumps or filters change state.

Check the inlet conditions

Establish the available flow and pressure over the operating cycle. Check the manufacturer’s requirements for the installed arrangement and allow access to inspect or isolate the sample.

Check the drain under operating conditions

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for routing, air breaks and drainage. Inspect for restrictions or back pressure and leave access for checking and cleaning.

Record transport delay

Document the sample transit time when the installation is commissioned. Use it when comparing readings with process events or grab samples.
