Work that connects measurement and people

At PMA, a piece of equipment is one part of a bigger job. Customers need to choose a measurement that suits their process, get it working on site and know who to call when something changes. People across technical sales, engineering, service and operations contribute at different points along the way.

For an instrument such as the PTV 1000, the work might start with a conversation about where to take a water sample. It could then move to an instrument specification, commissioning or a service visit. That variety is part of working in process measurement. The question changes from one plant to the next, and the answer depends on listening carefully to the people who run it.

Engineering, service and product work

Customer-facing engineers help investigate problems and find a practical next step. Product and technical colleagues work with customers and manufacturers to understand applications and develop solutions. PMA also has in-house facilities, where different skills come together to turn ideas and requirements into something that can be used.

The installation guidance and video demos show some of the work that sits behind an online analyser, from sample routing to calibration and maintenance. Working through those details takes curiosity, clear communication and the judgement to ask for another view when the situation calls for it.

Taking responsibility and working together

PMA values open conversations and new ideas. People are encouraged to take responsibility for their work, use their initiative and build confidence in their decisions. Collaboration matters because a decision made in one part of the team often shapes what a colleague or customer does next.

Good teamwork includes explaining what you found, sharing the context behind a decision and handing over information someone else can act on. The same habits help when you are solving an immediate problem for a customer or working on a longer product development project.
