Cookies and browser storage

What this PTV 1000 site uses to display pages, run the configurator and play video demos.

Read about browser storage

Cookies and other storage

A cookie is a small piece of information that a website can ask your browser to keep and send back with later requests. Websites can also store information locally on a device or only for the duration of a browsing session. These mechanisms have different lifetimes and uses.

The PTV 1000 development site does not install its own analytics or advertising cookies, and its scripts do not use local storage or session storage. You can browse product information and technical guides without making an optional cookie choice.

The configurator and enquiry form

The configurator keeps your selections in the current page. Moving through the steps changes the summary on screen. The Download brief button creates a text file in your browser, which you can keep or delete like any other downloaded file. Your choices are not sent to PMA when you download it.

The enquiry form works in a similar way. Validation happens in the open page and PMA receives no submission. A browser may offer to autofill fields or restore page state under your own browser settings. Use sample details when reviewing the form.

Website delivery and security

Cloudflare serves the site and provides security services. If a protection check is used, it may set a cookie to record the outcome or help distinguish ordinary browsing from automated traffic. The exact cookies depend on the security features in use and the request. Cloudflare explains the names, purposes and lifetimes in its cookie documentation.

Your browser can also keep a cached copy of an image or stylesheet so the next page opens more quickly. That cache is separate from the configurator, your enquiry entry and any security cookie.

Video demos and other websites

The video demo page displays local preview images first. Selecting an embedded demo loads the YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode. At that point, your browser connects to YouTube, and your use of the player is subject to Google’s privacy policy.

Some demos open directly on YouTube. Other links may open a manufacturer’s website, a standards body or LinkedIn. These services are separate from this site and set their own privacy and storage rules.

Managing storage on your device

Your browser settings let you inspect, restrict or clear cookies and site data. You can usually make those choices for an individual site. Blocking security cookies may cause an additional protection check if one is required. To avoid contacting a third-party video service, leave its player unopened.

For the connection information involved in serving a page, details about direct correspondence and ways to contact PMA, see our privacy policy.
